NETAPP SYSTEM MANAGER
NetApp System manager has a graphical interphase which helps to manage the NetApp simulator. After configuring the NetAPP V-SIM, I have installed a server with Windows Server 2012 operating system and given an IP address from the same subnet as V-Sim interfaces. I have also made the server as a domain controller, as well as DNS server and DHCP server.I have installed the NetApp system manager in the server machine
After installation of the system manager, I have added the simulator using the IP address of the simulator interface which is on the same network as the server.
Once it connected we can find the information on storage, aggregates, and volume, also we can find the notifications about the V-SIM. On the lift side, we can find the options for V-SIM configuration.USE THE CLI TO ACCESS A STORAGE SYSTEM
We need a Secure Shell (SSH) connection to login to the CLI interface of the V-SIM, for that we are using a tool called putty. I have copied putty to my server machine and run it then used the Storage IP address to connect to storage.
Log into the VSIM by entering root followed by the root password netapp123(the username and password which I have given while configuring the V-SIM).
Once logged in I have tried sysconfig –d command to list the entire disks and tried out help commands.
The DNS settings are in the left pane, expand Configuration > Network > DNS. I have provided IP address of the server and domain name in the configuration.

Configuring DNS
Here we are using the NetApp OnCommand System Manager to configure DNS in V-SIM. I have previously configured the Domain controller as a DNS server, so we can give the IP of DC for resolving names for V-SIM.
The DNS settings are in the left pane, expand Configuration > Network > DNS. I have provided IP address of the server and domain name in the configuration.
