CLOUD COMPUTING 

Cloud computing enables a wide range of flexibility to computing.




Business needs of Cloud


Cloud enables a fast delivery of business solutions, it makes the IT resources more scalable and quickly available.It is more cost effective and reliable for the complex structure of business.


Cloud overview 

There are three types of cloud services, which are Infracture as a service(IaaS), Platform as a Service( Paas) and software as a Service(Saas).

Characteristics of Cloud


Self- service, Broad Accessibility, Shared, Elastic and Measured Metered are the five characteristics of cloud computing.

The following chart gives a brief description of the Cloud Characteristics


Deployment Models

Open Public cloud : these are the cloud located on the internet. It is operated by service providers.

Enterprise private cloud: This is typically designed for Single organization with multiple users, it can be managed by the same company or by a third party.

Hybrid cloud : Is a combination of public and private cloud,

Delivery models 

Infrastructure as a service : This service provides fundamental computing resources like storages and networks etc. where customer can install applications

Platform as a Service : This service provides a platform to the user like database or programming language.

Software as a Service : In this service, the service provider provides applications in the cloud for the users  eg: email or program interface

IT AS A SERVICE

ITaaS providing an enterprise with exactly the amount of hardware, software, and  technical support that it needs for a monthly rent.

CONSIDERATIONS OF CLOUD 


The organization should select the proper service of cloud according to their needs,


Security and risk

The organization should consider many risk factors when using a cloud service, Security of the data is one of them eg: you will not know where is the data physically located.

Following are some of the risks which come with the cloud systems







Privacy

There is privacy risk when you are hosting data on a third party server or the provider may be storing the data in an another provider's storage.
