Using Templates and Clones

To create a template, we need to shutdown the Virtual Machine. 

I have created the template by right clicking on the VM

Then I could see the template has been created in the VM template folder.

Then I have moved it to the template folder what we have created in the previous lab.

I have right clicked and renamed the VM to test_template.

Now we will look how to deploy a virtual machine from the template, I have right clicked on the template and selected the option.

Once the configuration has completed we can see the status of the clone on the right side, In tasks.  

Once the creation has completed I could see the virtual machine in the virtual Machine folder.

Now we will try to clone a powered on VM, for that, I have right clicked on the VM and selected the option.

I could see the task status on the resent task. The cloning has been successful.
