Create a Standard Switch and Port Group

In this lab, we are going to create a virtual switch and add one of the ESXi host port to that switch. 

Firs I have checked the current switch configuration by going to Virtual switch option in Manage of ESXi host. The virtual switch name is cSwitch0and it connected to vmnic0 adaptor. 

 Then I clicked on the add host networking to create new switch.

Then selected new standard switch option.

Here I have to select the adaptors to connect to switch. When I have clicked on the + Icon it was giving me an error saying that there are no free adaptors. I figured out that I have given only one adaptor to the ESXi machine, I went back to the VM settings and added two more adaptors to ESXi. Now I could see them here, I have selected the adaptor to add to the switch.

Now I can find the vSwitch1 in the Virtual Switch list.

We can also attach our virtual machines to the switch by going to the VM edit settings in hosts list.
