Accessing iSCSI Storage
Here in this lab, we are accessing the iSCSI storage from Netapp simulator, which is already configured and added to the domain earlier in the project.
First, we are adding a VMkernal port to the standard switch which we have created previously. VMkernal provides network connectivity for the hosts and it handles various functions like vMotion and IP storage.
I have selected Switch0 and selected host networking, In the connection type I have selected VMKernal network adaptor.
Now the host is ready to connect after the VMkernal configuration completed. For connecting to the ISCSI adapter I have again gone to the Add new storage adaptor option, this time, I have selected ISCSI adapter option.
Then I figured out that I have to add a LUN with VMware operating system supported in the Netapp storage to add it to the iSCSI option. I have added it then I was able to configure the ISCSI adaptor.
In the dynamic discovery option, I had added the IP address of the storage.
Then I have rescanned the adaptor to view the path but the host was disconnecting and I was not able to see the paths. Then I have logged in to the ESXi host and I have connected and rescanned from there and finally, I was able to connect to the path.
